Vincenza Bonfiglio

September 23, 1947 - March 6, 2023

Vincenza Caruso Bonfiglio passed away on March 6th, 2023 in Santa Clarita, CA surrounded by her loving family and friends. Known as Enza to loved ones, she was born in Sicily on September 23rd, 1947.

Enza moved to California with her family in the early 1960s where she initially worked as a seamstress in the San Fernando Valley. In the early 1970s, she married her husband Ignazio Bonfiglio, with whom she acquired Villa Rosa Italian restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley, where they ran a successful business together. In the late 1980s, she moved her family to the Santa Clarita Valley.

In 1989, Enza and her family helped open and operate Caruso’s II in Canyon Country where she worked until her retirement in 2017. Enza served many happy customers and made many lifelong friends in her 47-year career in the restaurant business. Having spent so much of her time working in the restaurant, it was always a highlight for her friends when she was able to take a few moments to sit down and visit with them as they enjoyed their meals. It was also very common for her customers to stop and greet her as she ran errands around town.

Enza really enjoyed holidays and family gatherings. She was always glad to celebrate a happy occasion surrounded by her family and friends. Over the years, she also traveled occasionally to Sicily to reconnect with loved ones there. In her free time, Enza loved to visit California coastal towns from San Juan Capistrano, to Santa Barbara, and north to Monterey and San Francisco. But nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her two granddaughters, including several trips to Disneyland.

Enza will always be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, one son, two granddaughters, two sisters, one brother, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 19606 Calla Way, Canyon Country, on April 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Viewing and rosary will begin at the church at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Eternal Valley Memorial Park and Mortuary, 23287 N. Sierra Hwy, Newhall, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vincenza Bonfiglio’s honor may be made to: Providence Trinitycare Hospice Foundation, 5315 Torrance Blvd., Suite B-1, Torrance, CA 90503, 310.543.3440, give.providence.org/trinity
